So, here's the deal. Ron, Chandy and myself decided to each start our own blog in order for friends and family (as well as those who want to know what the heck is going on when we say that we are "missionaries in oklahoma city") to check up on to see what all is happening at Cross and Crown mission. We realized that alot of people are't able to come down to the mission as often as they would like and so this gives them a way to somewhat track with what all is happening. We also realize that alot of people don't come down to the mission simply because they haven't ever really felt invited, welcomed, or needed in this place. For those of you that this applies to, know this, we want you here, you are welcome here, and we NEED you here. So, maybe between the three of our blogs we might be able to convince, convict, or maybe flat out shame you into checking us out sometime (and for those of you that are curious, we aren't afraid to do any of those).
Just for a basic background update for anyone that is reading this blog and doesn't know who I am or lacks some information, here it is: Luke Whitmire, 23 years old, not married, no kids, full-time missionary (started full time in August when I graduated from Abilene Christian University) and my job title varies, but the more popular titles are - "community involvement" and "youth activities coordinator". I am fully committed to Christ and do my best to stay completely open to whatever His will is for my life.
With all of this being said, I hope that you enjoy the frequent "blogs" that I write and I will do my best to keep you up to date on the daily and weekly occurences that I experience during my work. Enjoy...
